"Brief me!
I'm in Charge!"
Just about everyone in the squadron used this one
in the late 80's.
"Being a Law Man isn't something you do for a living - It's
something you live to do!"
-Unk SP MSgt who made a comedy tape which circulated
the 435th SPS circa 1988.
"Wake
up! it's Squadron Beautification Day!"
What everyone who lived in the dorm would hear
on Saturday morning after your last mid just after lying your
head on your pillow in the late 80's.
"They're in the woods, Doc!"
Anyone on B flight, circa '77-'78. Intruder exercises
conducted by TSgt Ordon O. "Doc" Tummons invariably
ended at the west part of base near the Atlantis hangar. It signaled
that the "terrorists" had fled into the woods beyond
the perimeter, thus ending the exercise.
- Lee Shumway
"Keep
it between the lines and enter/exit through Papa 9 only."
"Have lunch at Bldg 131 today! Yum! mystery meat! I always
enjoyed the box nasty #2."
- Dave Stapert
"Don't
confuse your rank with my authority."
Quote used at main gate with U.S. Army officers
who didn't like removing their ID card for examination by an "Air
Force Airman".
- Stephen Kohler
"Respect
my authoruhtigh!"
- Eric Cartman
"Don't
worry kid. You can handle it."
- Officer Sam Reed who slept in his patrol vehicle while "training"
the Rookie. On a mid shift Sam awoke to gunshots. The Rookie was
mortally wounded and had never called in the traffic stop thanks
to Reed's fabulous OJT program. The suspect(s) sped away and Officer
Reed didn't get a vehicle or suspect(s)' description. He frantically
radioed for an ambulance. Dispatch asked for his location? Looking
at his surroundings on the remote road all Reed could see were
tall trees silhouetted against the dark night sky
& whipping in the wind. At that moment
Officer Reed realized he had no clue as to his location.
Dispatch asked again for his location? All he could do was
scream in agony. "Officer Sam Reed... He thought he was
a good cop." I can't remember the name of this USAF
Security Police Academy training film.
"I'm
goin' in!"
- Deputy "Dumb Ass" who was subsequently blown away
as he ran to the front porch without thinking, the element of
surprise, or any cover. The suspect kicked open the screen door
& fired his shotgun into our hero who was stopped dead in
his tracks about four feet away. From the USAF Security Police
Academy training film "Tombstone Courage".
"What
part of 'No' don't you understand?"
- MSgt Douglas Greenwood (You always had to smile after he said
it because it was too funny.)
