A-Flight getting ready for Runway 18 West riot control duty. On yet another weekend (of course).

The first two Russian INF Teams on base (one came in on the IL-62 and one on our C-141s). A new era of the Cold War had begun. The whole base was in a state of emergency - what we called "Pinging". We had to post a lot of folks in the base hotel to assure our visitor's security, and keep them from "wandering around" on base. This was no easy task. At times the KGB folks in the group kept probing and provoking us.

C-5 Galaxy "The Hog" on it's final approach. Always a great sight! Our other two workhorses, the C-130 and C-141, seemingly lifeless on the cold flight line, are being prepared for their next mission.
