Aside from the CSU's, I probably hold the record for most time spent at Rhein-Main (Jan86-Jun93). I saw many Defenders come and go amongst a lot of stuff I remain in denial about. Arriving as Amn Wild, I was actually one of the first females to enter the Security Specialist career field in 1985 when it was first opened up to us "WO-men", as well the first female Security Specialist to be assigned in Europe. Unfortunately, I remained the only female SS for more than a year. In the long run it was ALL GOOD! I worked mostly B-Flt Security Control, then went to the Training Section as Scheduler and SS Trainer.

SPOL-B Amn Lisa Frantz and I started the "435th SPS Better ½'s", the unit's first female softball team, recruiting many dependent wives. We kicked some butt. Some of my fondest memories are of softball, the Lip Synch Contest, Trips to E. Berlin and Oktoberfest! Of course there was also the attack on Libya in Mar86 during my Birthday party which resulted in 36 consecutive days of 18 hr shifts including rotations of National Guardsmen and Reservists. Too many parties and trips to Sachsenhausen, the Irish Pub, pints of Guinness, shots of Apfelkorn & Ouzo, eating Gyros and Oh! 1778 flip top beir. Let us also not forget "Choir Practice" at the Deutsch Kantine after our last mid shift.

I can't say I've been around the world. I went from RM to San Antonio, Texas. And that's where I've been ever since.
I was first assigned to the 6960th SPS, AFIC, then Kelly AFB, which was a whole other world from the real one let me tell you. When the 6960th disbanded, I was forced to move to HQ Air Intelligence Command (AIA). I worked as Alarms Administrator, Visitor Control, and finally moved into the Information Security arena where I have remained since.

I avoided remotes like the plague, having three young girls and being a single mom. I moved from Kelly/Lackland to Randolph where I worked as a Special Security Officer in Intel. In 2005 I retired as a MSgt. I'm now working as a Security Manager for Air Force Research Labs, Brooks AFB but will be moving to a new job at Ft. Sam Houston (for the Army - Yikes!) very soon as the Garrison Information Security Manager, GG-11. So I have been assigned at almost every military installation in San Antonio. I'm still single with three girls, still into softball and still having fun. Rhein-Main was the best ever! Defenders Unite!
