Rhein-Main AB was my first duty assignment, shortly after Desert Shield kicked off (circa December 1990). I was born and bred Security and started on SPOS-C. After countless adventures both on and off duty I PCS'd in '92 to Grand Forks AFB, ND and the great white Missile Field. After four years of banging the IMPSS pole with a snow shovel I was off to SHAPE, Belgium and 2 years of getting a gate for 4-star generals. At this point I made the decision to go K9, with Cannon AFB, NM as my first kennel. For 4 years I deployed, did bomb searches all over New Mexico/Texas, a few Secret Service missions and countless demonstrations before arriving at my current duty station, Lackland AFB, TX. For the last 6.5 years I've been in the DoD Dog Center doing a little bit of everything in regards to all that is canine. Now I'm off to my next assignment as a married TSgt, Incirlik AB, Turkey. At this point in time I'm 1.5 years from retirement and hoping MSgt is in the cards. Throughout my AF tenure my memories of Rhein-Main have been the fondest and those I served with the best people I've met. I've had the opportunity to visit there over the last few years while going to Europe to purchase dogs. It hurts my heart to see what it has become... Long live the C-flight shots!!!
