Wow! First of all I would like
to thank Chuck for putting together and maintaining this site!!!
Awesome memories of when we were young, life was simpler and everybody
looked out for each other regardless of who we were. I remember
a lot of partying, a lot of drinking and a lot of work. I was stationed
at the Rhein from May 1984 to May 1988. I worked SPOS D-flight,
flight line constable (while Zeigler was TDY/Leave for a couple
of months), back on D-flight, Personnel Security and finally SPOS
A-flight and a lot of flyway missions downrange. Not sure if I hold
the record for the most downrange missions while being stationed
at the Rhein for my tenure? However, it sure felt like it at the
time.
After the Rhein I PCS’d to Andrews AFB (1988 to 1992),
San Vito Dei Normani Italy (1992 to 1993), Lackland AFB (1993
to 1996), Washington DC (1996 to 2000), Minot AFB (2000 to 2001),
and finally Fairchild AFB WA (2001 to 2003) where I retired as
a MSgt. While bouncing around from base to base I deployed to
numerous known hotspots and of course some little unknown hotspots
I will never forget. I am currently working as a civilian detective
for the USAF at McChord AFB, WA and enjoying life.
Over the years I ran into a few alumni and kept in contact with
others and I am looking forward to being able to get in contact
with all my long lost friends from the Rhein.
Prost!!!
