It is great to see the web site
for the 435th SPS. Great Job! My 4½ years at "The Rhein"
were by far the best. Even during the most difficult times, i.e.
the bombing of 85, and all other security situations, everyone pulled
together and became one. The good times were hard to beat, the infamous
horseshoe tournaments at the Kennels, the breakfast club, annual
group trips to the Oktoberfest (those of you that can remember),
and of course, the successful 24 hour party/BBQ we had at the kennels
for squadron members and their families. I left Rhein-Main in 1988
and my wife Wendy and I moved to Philadelphia. (Wendy worked at
the Budget Rent a car office at the BX). We left Philadelphia and
moved back home to Maine where I accepted a position with locally
owned funeral homes. I attended college in Boston for Mortuary Science
graduating and accepting a management position for three of the
seven funeral homes. Wendy and I divorced in 1989 and over the course
of the next few years I worked at several other Maine funeral homes,
and also had an opportunity to buy and sell some funeral homes as
well. It has been 20 years and I am now living in Brunswick, Maine
which is located in the mid coast area of Maine 20 miles north of
Portland. I am not remarried but have a wonderful woman in my life,
Christine Kerrigan of Acton, Mass. who will be my wife and partner
for life. I hope to hear from anyone who does remember me so we
can recollect the great memories of our time in Germany. My cell
# is (207)798-9538.
