I was stationed at Rhein Main from
December 1984 - December 1986 and worked with Security on D Flight.
I also did a stint on the mountain guarding the radio tower. I can
not remember the name of that place but we always took the train
to and from whenever we had more than a couple of days off.
After leaving Rhein Main, I was stationed at Bangor ANGB, Maine
to provide security for the new radar. However, in my time there,
the contractor never turned it over to the Air Force so we spent
a lot of time screwing around and patroling the flight line with
the old-timers.
Since leaving the Air Force in 1988, I continued to work in law
enforcement including almost 8 years with the Michigan State Police
as an emergency dispatcher. With a wife and two young kids, I decided
that shift work was no longer the life for me so I went back to
school and earned my degree in finance from Grand Valley State University.
I now work as the accounting manager at an arena in Grand Rapids,
Michigan and have two sons in high school and still happily married
to my wife of 18 years, Paula.
I stumbled across this site and it brought back a C-5 full of memories.
I hope to re-connect with some of the guys I served with.
